Service Fee Explained

Why some properties show fees separately

Properties using nightly rates display service fees separately in the price breakdown, but you're not paying anything extra - the total cost is the same as if it were included.

Understanding Service Fees

You may notice when browsing properties that some show prices like this:

Example A - Itemised

Accommodation £450
Service Fee £50
Total £500

Example B - Combined

Total £500

Same price, different display

Why the Difference?

The difference comes from how property owners structure their pricing:

With Itemised Service Fees

  • Owners have set rates using "nightly prices"
  • The system separates the service fee in the breakdown
  • You see each component of the total cost

Without Itemised Service Fees

  • Owners have set rates using "weekly prices"
  • The service fee is included within the total price
  • You see one combined total

✅ Important: You're Not Paying Extra

The total cost is exactly the same regardless of whether the service fee is itemised or included.

This is purely a display difference based on the owner's pricing structure - it doesn't affect what you pay.
